Dr.
Kleitz is a native of Washington State. After working as a
carpenter he earned a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Civil
Engineering from Cal Poly in California where he worked as a Civil Engineer for
the City of Los Angeles.
While in L.A. he played semi-professional baseball as he pursued an M.B.A. at Cal State LA and an M.S. in Environmental Engineering at Loyola University.
His Doctorate is in Dental Medicine with honors from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He served a tour of duty in the U.S. Public Health Service as the Chief Dental Officer in a Federal Prison. While in the Service he also was on the faculty at Troy State University and taught College Biology. He has studied computers at the University of Missouri at St. Louis and has a certificate as a Web Page Designer.
Dr. Kleitz is a Merit Badge Counselor to the Boy Scouts of America in two Merit Badges. He is a member of the Bonsai Society of Greater St. Louis at the Missouri Botanic Garden, a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, a member of the American Dental Association, the Missouri Dental Association, the Greater St. Louis Dental Society, the Lewis & Clark Study Club, and the Academy of General Dentistry, where he earned a "Fellowship" (FAGD) in the year 2003. He is also a member of the "Gateway Cruisers", a PT Cruiser owners club, and the "Just do it Hiking Club" where they hike 1,000 miles per year.
He is widowed from Carole and has two grown children, Brett and Kimber. He has five grandchildren. ( See Carole's pictures ).
